"I bought Bailey from Sophie two years ago as a four year old. She brought him on slowly and correctly, covering the basics in flatwork and jumping, giving him an excellent start and enabling me to continue his education.  He has done all pony club activities and been placed BSJA novice and discovery.  He loves his cross country and I am hoping to event him in the coming year. He has such a brilliant cheeky personality and is always keen to do whatever is asked of him. He is such a lovely pony,  I really enjoy owning and riding him. Thank you Sophie"

"Sophie Minikin has been instructing for the Bramham Moor pony club for a while, and has taught all disciplines, show jumping, including grid work, cross country, and flat work. She has also been involved with out Horse and Pony Care, and stable management lessons, which resulted in our junior Horse and Pony Care team qualifying for the Pony Club Championships, and finishing 2nd.

Sophie has also taught at our senior camp, enabling many members to achieve their pony club tests"

"Sophie provided an excellent service when I bought my horse, with use of her great facilities for schooling and hacking, I got to test out my horse Doris to her full extent. Ive now owned Dorris since October 2010 and shes has never put a foot wrong, a very genuine mare, that has never put me in danger and always puts mine and hers safety first every ride. Sophie was a great person to buy this horse from, with her experience and  knowledge this helped me find the horse that fitted what I wanted to do, as she checks how my progress with this horse is regularly . I give this business a very high recommendation and would easily buy another horse off Sophie, and I wish her good luck for the rest of her career"

I cannot praise the service I received off Sophie enough. Having seen Joey on Horsemart I rang and arranged to go up and see him, Sophie was very accommodating arranging this. I had the opportunity to watch how Joey was in every respect from tacking up, seeing Sophie ride first and then riding myself in her fantastic outdoor schooling area. Following this Sophie offered to take me on a hack with Joey the following week so I could determine how he was out on the roads etc. Having a second opportunity to ride really helped me as it let me see how he behaved in every discipline.

Following the second ride I decided to buy Joey as he was perfect all the way on both rides which really is a good testament to Sophie as she had put two years of hard work into Joey and I feel this really paid off. I had been out the saddle for 6 years so I needed a horse that would build my confidence back in but not a total novice ride, Joey was perfect for this. Whether you’re after a novice ride or a more experienced there will definitely be something at this yard for you. Joey was up to date with all shoeing, teeth and vaccinations when I got him which also helped to start out with. Since buying Joey he has settled in his new home really well, I have hacked out alone and in company and he is always fantastic either way. Have just started schooling again which taken no work at all as I know that Sophie had put a lot of time into this with him which definitely reflects as he works in a lovely outline and has great paces. Sophie had also done local shows including SJ, Dressage and Cubbing so I look forward to taking Joey on further with this in the future. Joey is a really stunning head turning horse so I know he will excel when going to shows. I would recommend Sophie to anyone looking to buy a horse!

“We bought Gambler from Sophie a year ago and he has been everything she said he would be and more! It was fantastic to use her great facilities and hacking routes to make sure Gambler was the right horse for us, and Sophie encouraged us to ride him as much as we wanted before we decided to buy him. He has excelled in every way over the time we have had him and has never stopped improving. From happy hacking to dressage, showjumping and hunter trials, Gambler has never put a foot wrong. He has been a pleasure to own and always well behaved in all situations. We were lucky to find such an honest and helpful seller!”

My two retired dressage warmbloods have been on full livery at Sophie’s since I moved to Boroughbridge last year.

I previously kept them at home and they are very important to me so I am delighted that they are happy in their new home.

They have all the facilities they need to enjoy their retirement – large, light airy boxes with shavings and rubber matting and year round individual turn-out.

Sophie and her parents run the yard very professionally and are happy to make adjustments to suit each horse.

It is a great relief to know they are well cared for so I can go to work without worrying about them and still spend time with them whenever I want to.
